No. Only dangerous conditions (e.g., thunderstorms and high winds) can lead to a postponement of the training. If adverse weather conditions develop during the training, appropriate preventative measures will be implemented. However, the training location may be slightly modified to ensure the success of the activity. This remains at the discretion of the trainer.
It is important to have with you the mandatory equipment of the Canadian regulations namely: paddle, PFD, bailer to empty your kayak, rope of a minimum length of 10 meters as well as a whistle.
You should also remember to bring a skirt, clothing appropriate for the water temperature, and a change of clothes. Pack lunch and snacks as well. It's important to stay well hydrated; bring at least two liters of water. Sun protection is also essential, such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and a Buff-type neck scarf.
